Can I finance or lease equipment?

Written by Workflow

Yes, though not through us. Workflow sells the equipment; if you want to spread the cost, you arrange that separately with a finance provider. We are not a credit intermediary, we do not arrange finance and we do not take part in the application.

Providers our customers have used

Customers buying from Workflow have previously financed purchases through:

  • Grenke — equipment leasing, active in Ireland across a wide range of business equipment.

  • AIB — business lending and asset finance.

Approach either of them directly. We are naming them because customers ask us who others have used, not as a recommendation: we have no referral arrangement with either, we take no part in the decision, and we have no visibility of it. Whether you are approved, and on what terms, is entirely between you and the provider. Other providers exist and your own bank is worth asking first.

What we can do for your application

Almost every finance application needs a written quotation or proforma invoice from the supplier — it confirms who is supplying the equipment, exactly what is being supplied, and the amount. We will send you one.

Email [email protected] with the machine you are looking at and where it is going, and we will put it in writing. You do not need a trade account for this.

Two things worth knowing first

  • Leasing and buying outright are treated differently. With a lease you are generally charged VAT on each instalment rather than on the full price at the outset, and the equipment may not sit on your balance sheet the way a purchase would. Ask your accountant before you commit — the treatment often matters more to a small business than the headline rate does.

  • Your warranty and service are unaffected. How you pay for a machine makes no difference to what it is covered for or who you call when something goes wrong. That stays with us either way.

If it is a cash-flow question rather than a finance one

Approved trade accounts can pay by direct debit, collected fourteen days after the end of the month in which you ordered. For smaller amounts that is often all the breathing room a business needs, and it is quicker to set up than finance. See Payment terms and options for trade customers.
